Welcome to Worship
God is at work here to gather a people for himself. Whenever we come to church we're given the Gospel. The Gospel is the announcement that the man Jesus of Nazareth, who ate with sinners and forgave their sins, healed the sick, raised the dead, was crucified for our sins and raised victorious over death, is Lord and Christ - that Jesus is the son of God who rules over creation.

Everytime we come to church that message is given to us to believe, to hold fast to, and to cherish as our own. Through the proclamation of that message, through the waters of baptism, through the forgiveness of sins, and through the Lord's Supper, the announcement that Jesus is Lord becomes personal. Because he washes us, forgives us, and gives us his body and blood as the new covenant, Jesus is not only Lord over creation; he is also our Lord. God is at work, through the proclamation of the Gospel to make us his people - a people who are his treasured possession in Christ Jesus.

Rev Dr Joel Meyer
Pastor Joel Meyer was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In 2012 he accepted a call to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church after earning a PhD in systematic theology from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.  In addition to the PhD, he also earned an MDiv from the same institution and a BA in theology from Valparaiso University.  

Pastor Meyer sees the pastor as an under-shepherd of Jesus Christ. In that role, a pastor is to feed and nourish Jesus' flock with the gospel, tend to them on God's behalf through life's joys and challenges, and lead them to work together for the building up of the body of Christ. 
Pastor Meyer is married to Stephanie, who is an integral part of the Christian education at Holy Trinity.  Together they have four children.  
Pastor Adam Gray
Pastor Adam and Melissa Gray were welcomed into membership at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in September of 2023. Pastor Gray was installed as Associate Pastor in May of 2025. A graduate of the Specific Ministry Pastor program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Pastor Gray previously served King of Glory Lutheran Church in New Kent, VA, for 10 years as Deacon and Associate Pastor. At Holy Trinity, he assists in leading worship, providing pastoral care, and teaching Christian education for adults and youth. A retiree from the United States Navy and the Department of Defense, he holds degrees from the University of North Florida (B.A.), Liberty University (M.A. in Theology), and the University of Maryland (M.S. in Management). Pastor Gray and his wife Melissa, have three children: Shannon (Pete) Moore of Springfield, VA; Alexys (Brett) Flora of Richmond, VA; and Jackson (Emily) Gray of Winder, GA.

Bible Study Opportunities

Church Family Night

Church Family Night resumes on  August 19th from 5:30 - 7:30 and on the third Wednesday of each month thereafter through May. We'll be studying "The Catechism at Home." The catechism contains the essential Word of God that we need to have on our hearts and minds so we can live lives of faith. The adults learn how to use the catechism in daily life and how to teach it to their children. The dinner is always potluck style. We hope to see you there!

Men's Bible Study

Christ the Center: A Study of the Lutheran Confessions. What is it that makes Lutherans Lutheran? It is not that we follow Luther, but that we see Jesus at the center of the Scriptures, faith, and life. The Lutheran Confessions, the founding documents of Lutheranism, points us in all things to Christ. Join us as we read and discuss these documents in order to center our faith and life in Christ. Interested? See the sign-up sheet in the Narthex or contact Pastor Meyer. We will begin on Saturday, August 8th at 8:00 am.

Women's Bible Study

The Women's Bible Study group will meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month beginning at 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Martin Luther's small catechism and the Book of Concord serve as our trusty roadmaps as we explore how to properly hear in the Scriptures our heavenly Father summoning us to the joy and freedom of living and growing as His beloved children through Jesus Christ.

Yulee/Fernandina Bible Study Group

The Yulee/Fernandina Beach Bible Study Group meets the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Our meetings will resume on August 27th. We are currently studying Jesus: A Study on the Words of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This study features 24 lessons with questions and answers that compare what each Gospel writer records about Jesus, presenting His ministry in chronological order. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the New Testament Gospel message and the reliability of Scripture. Both Christians and skeptics alike will see how the Gospel writers present Jesus as the Savior of mankind with clarity, authority, and compelling evidence. Throughout the study, Pastor Gray will also highlight the unique perspectives and nuances of each Gospel, helping to address common questions about differences in the Gospel accounts and how these complementary narratives strengthen our understanding of Christ. If you have not been to one of our sessions, you are missing a unique study. Dinner will not be provided at this session, however you are free to bring snacks or dinner to enjoy during this study. We meet at the Amelia Walk Amenity Center located at 85287 Majestic Walk Blvd in Fernandina Beach, FL. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions please reach out to Pastor Gray.

Equipped for Ministry

Do you want to share the gospel with the people in your life, but feel like you don't know how? Do you have a heart for the body of Christ and its mission? Do you want to dig deeper into the study of God and spiritual care? Then please join Pastor Meyer and others as we continue our study/workshop on spiritual care. We meet the 4th Saturday of every month from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Our next meeting is on Saturday, August 29th.
